We provide a number of activities and programs to provide education, food, medical facilities and care to children of families identified in need.

Day Care Centre-Phase 1

Children who have reached the age 4 are enrolled for 2 years. They are being looked after from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm on weekdays. Nursery education is provided in the morning session. Breakfast, lunch and evening tea is provided. In the afternoon they are given a time to sleep and also to play games in the grounds. Quarterly medical check-ups and medicines are provided. Also, uniforms and books are provided. They also participate in sports meet, concert and excursion. They receive a gift pack for Christmas.

Day Care Centre-Phase 2
Children who have completed Phase-1 are selected for Phase 2 for further 3 years whilst they are in school education. (Years 1 to 3). They are provided with lunch and educational assistance in the afternoon from 1.30 to 4.30 p.m. Medicals and school books are provided. They also participate in sports meet, concert and excursions. They receive a gift pack for Christmas.
 
Educational Assistance (weekend classes)
Children who are in years 4&5 in day schools are provided with educational assistance for subjects namely Mathematics, Sinhala and English.

Special attention to differently abled children
Educational and other assistance are provided for 3 days a week from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Travelling and medical expenses are paid.
They also participate in sports meet, concert and excursions. They receive a gift pack for Christmas.

Annual medical camp (free)
Examination of patients by panel of doctors on a voluntary basis and issuing of medicines free of charge. Most of the medicines are provided to us free of charge from Drug Authority and companies. The balance requirements are paid by the Centre.

Self-Employment Training courses
Patchwork, Dressmaking, Cookery and Sewing classes for mothers of the children of DCC & others who deserve.

Awareness programs
To develop the family life and social life awareness programmers are held. Counseling sessions to rehabilitate the parents who are drug addicts.

Educational assistance
Tuition fees for GCE (O/L) & (A/L) students who have educated at DCC.

Improving living standards
Providing materials to build a toilet for a family of a child who is in the DCC.
